PRESS RELEASE – Kick – Off Event, Athens, Greece

The Institute of Research & Training on European Affairs – I.R.T.E.A successfully hosted and impleemnted the Kick – Off Event along the first Transnational Partners Meeting for the European Project “SMART Youth Centre – Supporting Mobility Activities Running through Tech”, which is funded by the Erasmus + Programme of the EU for Youth, under Key Action 2, Strategic Cooperation, via the Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation (INEDIVIM).

The Meeting took take place on the 29th and 30th of March 2022 in Athens Greece, where 13 partner representatives gathered to discuss the project’s overview including its aims and goals, the expected results, its impact, and products, while the partners will express their ambitions and expectations of the project and its successful implementation.

The main aim of the meeting which was achieved was to set the context for all of the project activities that will follow and more specifically, to clarify points on the development of Project Results 1 (MOOC Course) & 2 (VR Application). The lead partner of each of these project results gave a presentation on the methodology and proposed steps of development for the content of the PRs. Moreover, the partners discussed briefly the identification of participants for the next steps of the project, administrative topics and held meaningful discussions on the efforts of maximizing the impact of the project.

Additionally, the partners’ representatives discussed all important topics that needed to be addressed regarding the Milestones of the project, and topics about dissemination, communication and ways to best address it.

About the project

SMART Youth Centre – Supporting Mobility Activities Running through Tech is a 24 -month Strategic Cooperation (Key Action 2 – KA2) about Digital Youth Work (DYW). More specifically, the Project aims to support and empower youth workers by developing their digital skills and competences to develop their own digital activities for youth, thus, contributing to the youth workers’ professional development and evolvement.

The aforementioned will be achieved through the various stages of the Project which include the training of the participating youth workers through MOOC (Mass Open Online Courses), the development of a VR Application, and its pilot application by the participants to implement their own digital activities, and lastly, the development of a Digital Toolbox with useful tools and methods regarding DYW.

The consortium consists of 8 partners (including I.R.T.E.A.) from 6 different countries. The partners are the following:
