On the 10th of October, the Multiplier Event of the European project S.M.A.R.T. Youth Center (Supporting Mobility Activities Running through Tech) was held at the Klaipeda Open Youth Center by the partner organization Amicus Certus.
This event was attended by 20 people working with young people in different sectors such as education or sport, youth trainers, and young people interested in the topic of digital skills.
During the 6-hour Event, the project’s key activities and project result were presented:
-created an online course (MOOC) about digital work with young people;
-a virtual reality (VR) environment has been created – a youth space where youth workers can organize activities for young people;
-implemented a pilot application of digital activities for young people, among youth workers
-created a set of digital tools with practical examples that can be used in digital work with young people.
During the event, the youth centers of the Klaipėda region – Kretinga, Klaipėda and Klaipėda district open youth centers shared their experiences using digital tools to engage young people.
Klaipėda City Municipality shared its approach to digital youth work and tools, which provided a great opportunity to understand how these tools can be integrated into the city’s youth work program. We ended the event with a test of the virtual reality environment. The participants of the event had the opportunity to try virtual reality glasses and participate in activities that contributed to understanding how these technologies can be used in work with young people. It was a unique opportunity to learn and share experiences that can help improve youth work using modern digital tools. We hope that this event provided inspiration and new ideas for all participants.
